What is presence? Presence is the inherent quality of your being that makes you sensitive to the life flowing through you. It’s taking the time, seeing that everything is already here, and connecting to the permanent abundance of the here and now. Presence also means setting aside the EGO, the persona, to position oneself as an observer of what is, by putting aside the incessant urge to do, modify, act, in order to constantly experience something other than what is already here.
Concretely, it’s a state cultivated by gradually adopting new habits, and which completely changes our vision of life. Learning to be present to what is, is also accepting what is. This applies to our internal states as much as to the life situations we go through. Accepting doesn’t mean enduring, quite the opposite. It’s only by fully accepting a state or situation that we can make the calm choice to experience something else. Otherwise, we constantly generate stress, criticism towards others, and rejection towards ourselves and our own lives.
Let’s take the time to be present, let’s savor the joy of existing.
